I trained in hypnotherapy with one of the top hypnotherapists in the field (Janis Ericson) at the Lightwork Seminars institute in Northern California, supplementing my CH with over 140 hours of in-depth work at the Academy of Coaching and NLP. I’m currently certified by both the National Guild of Hypnotists and the Society for Neurolinguistic Programming and I hold a B.A. from Oberlin College.
As a lifelong student of human potential and development, I know that the ultimate source of most of the obstacles people face in their lives are habits and patterns they get “stuck” in through repeated access to non-resourceful states – stress, panic, fear, etc.
One of the most satisfying things about hypnosis is the chance it gives me to lift my clients out of their own “stuckedness” and focus on the empowering wisdom they already possess. Often the subtle change in perspective provided by a hypnotic trance is all it takes to transform an issue that once seemed intractable into something manageable. With this new perspective, the client discovers that they have the ability to resolve their own issues from a position of calmness and growing confidence.
In addition to my hypnosis and coaching training, I’ve also spent many years studying the healing and divinatory methodologies of traditional societies, cultivating a special focus on Amazonian shamanism and Central African tribal wisdom. These have in turn influenced my development as a hypnotherapist and coach, giving me a particular interest in “existential” issues: stress management, self-image and goal-orientation.
A recent transplant to Miami Beach, I spend my free time playing capoeira, cultivating my yoga practice and designing websites.
